To Whom it May Concern,

I hope that the world is a much better place than it is now. The 2020 has greatly impacted the world in many ways and I truly hope that we were all able to recover from this global disaster. The world doesn’t seem to be the way that it used to. People used to have so much faith in science and now that image has been tarnished by many.

Climate change is crucial for a better world. Much of the world is dealing with weather changes drastically. This year alone, 2020, California has burned over a million acres in wildfires, hundreds of thousands of people had to flee, and hundreds lost their homes. Climate change is crucial to prevent this from ever happening again. I hope that our leaders now finally acknowledge how important our climate is. We will hopefully have started to lower fossil fuel emissions greatly by they time you are reading this. I also hope that everyone in the government takes action to enforce laws needed to lower fossil fuel emissions and fracking.

Much of the current generation has come to terms with how important climate change is. We are fueled to make a change and I sincerely hope that we will have made a good impact on the world before you read this letter. I hope your generation no longer has to deal will potential global disasters such as intense hurricanes, wildfires, and etc. I really hope we made a positive difference.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Hailey and Lily,

We know about this. If we don’t fix this for you, it’s our fault.

Dear Society,

If we work together to spread the awareness of what is occurring today, we will be able to prevent it from continuing into the tomorrow.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I’ll replace our lights with LED lights.

Dear Sadie,

You are young and have a rich future ahead of you. I am retired and aiming for a high quality of cultural life and comfort with whatever time remains to me. I do not want to see a world whose elders sacrifice your future for their short-term needs and personal gain. So it’s up to you and me to speak out.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise composting in my house and getting an EV for my first car.

Dear Daughter,

Tonight at bedtime, you asked, seemingly out of nowhere, “why are the glaciers disappearing?”

Dear Elliott,

We’re moving into uncertain times, and your dad and I worry. A lot. But you’re keeping us going. You’re pushing us to make better choices and not give up.

To my grandchildren’s children,

I became an activist to be part of a force to save the natural world and go 100% clean energy.

Dear Before The Flood team,

We can all be aware and sensitized to the problem, so that we are ready to embrace the solutions that will come our way. In doing so, we can all be part of the solution.

Dear Gabriel,

One day ten or twenty years from now, when you look back from the future, you will be able to clearly see the entire path.

Dear June and Colin,

I’m sad and angry that collectively more has not been done to this date. And that still with such dire warnings, obvious impacts, those in power are acting far too slowly.
