Think of a person important in your life - your child, a friend, a family member or your future self. Imagine it is 2050 and they receive a message from you written today. Your message shares your thoughts about climate change and your promise to take action to ensure they have a safe and healthy world.
🇺🇳 Reading the headlines from the @IPCC synthesis report has been hard, and we know we aren’t alone in these feelings.
🤍 So we reached out to our friend and climate anxiety expert Britt Wray from @GenDread for some support.
If your climate emotions are heightened this week, please do scroll through for ideas and resources to help navigate and harness these feelings.
Britt stresses that being rocked by the climate crisis and feeling painful and even despairing emotions is not only natural but, ultimately a good thing. “We all need to feel about the crisis and not only think about it, if we are going to burst through our defences that otherwise thwart action”.
But sometimes we also need help facing these emotions and guidance on how to harness them for purpose driven change, so we hope these slides provide a little help.

‼️ But not from the fossil fuel companies, the industries behind mass deforestation, and pollution, and not from many of our governments. Their stories haven’t changed course, when we so urgently needed a twist in the plot.
So now, this report is a tale of urgency “a survival guide for humanity”, after long periods of lies, denial, ambivalence and inaction. But will it be the trigger for the plot twist?
If not, it will be down to us, to come together in greater numbers than ever before to create the future we want. #ChooseYourFuture

When women make up 51% of the global population and 80% of those displaced by climate. These leadership stats don’t add up.
Research shows stronger climate action is taken when women are leading, from ratifying environmental treaties to leading NGOs.
It’s time to change the story…

〽️We are shining a spotlight on Kom Achall today, the incredible artist behind ‘Forecast’ an installation created for our latest community engagement exhibit looking at the past, present and future effects of climate change.
🔆 We are thrilled that Kom`s #DearWolverhampton installation will remain on display at @wolvesartandculture over the coming months.
Kom created the astro turf installation, as a reflection on this growing trend to replace natural spaces, and the disruption it causes to the environment, our wildlife and ecosystems. The crystal ball represents our unknown futures.
The exhibit features soundscapes developed by the Wolverhampton Punjabi Women’s Writing Group, led by Wolverhampton’s Poet Laureate Kuli Kohli and the Boundary way project.

We have been overwhelmed by the support for our community-led interactive exhibit DearTomorrow:DearWolverhampton.
If you haven`t visited, we can`t wait to welcome you - but don`t delay - the exhibition draws to a close this Sunday evening.
Housed at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery, the exhibition has welcomed over 12,000 visitors - so many leaving climate messages or penning poems and letters in response to their experience of the exhibit.
The exhibition takes you on a journey through immersive, interactive installations, films, and soundscapes from community poetry workshops. There are areas for you to write your own letter to the future, or use an interactive phone box to record voice messages to DearTomorrow.
We are so grateful to Sandra Freij for curating this climate storytelling and arts project. Working closely with Rachel Thomas, David Grandorge, and Kom Achall in collaboration with Gatis Community Space and Boundary Way Project.
