Hello spawn,

Little Jordans.. I do this for all of us. I write this in the hopes that we can change the world for you. So that we might leave the world a place where you still desire to be outside. I wish for you to step out into the chill of an autumn night and fear not for breathing deep the chill of the air. I wish for you to wonder at the beauty of the planet, but not lazily as I did, as a participant of your planet. I am small now littles and I may be small forever but in my small ways I will fight for you. You and all the good green and living things on this Earth. I promise you darlings it’s most of what matters in life. Your most certainly overbearing already adoring mother; your father too as he’s asleep on my shoulder.

More Messages to the Future

To future Geof,

Cool, now that your jetpack is put away in your garage where you keep your flying car; how did the aliens save us from our own destruction? Did they have this hyper advance vacuum that just sucks all the greenhouse gases out of our atmosphere?

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

To the Three most Beautiful Souls I could ever Know,

I promise to keep your Love at the forefront of my every move. I will make personal changes and I will learn more, so that I can contribute to a healthier environment in a meaningful way.

Dear Devon and Chloe

I hope that my work helping to make your schools more sustainable will be something you carry on as you grow older.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to stop eating beef.

To My Future Children,

I hope by 2050, our society has taken initiative to be producing energy solely through renewable sources.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I’ll replace our lights with LED lights.

dear me in 2030,

I am smelling burning plastic!

Dear Isaiah,

I am grateful for your soul, for your creativity, for your empathy. All these are precious treasures that you have to offer the world. They will help. I thank you for being in this world right now, so that you can offer these gifts at a time of transition.

Dear Gabriel,

When the worst consequences of climate change still feel far away today, or the barriers to acting on climate change seem steep today, I do not think about today. I think about you, and your world when you are my age.

Dear Tomorrow and Dearest Lex,

I do believe that the collective power of everyone’s best efforts can curb the worst effects of climate change, and provide you with a more stable and secure future.

To My Daughter and Future Grandchildren,

There are so many more things that we can do together to help our Earth from the damage that has been done, and I am so excited to teach you.
