Dear tomorrow…

My name is Spencer. I wish that tomorrow people will be able to see past the labels we give ourselves and begin to humanize and relate to each other on a personal level. I wish for a world where people can live side by side with people and actually get along. I wish for a world where with no hate, a world with love and compassion. I wish my children will be able to play on the playground, go to school, live productive lives and not live in fear of anything. I wish for a different tomorrow. I dream lofty dreams, but is that not the purpose of dreams?

Dear Makena,

Sweetie, you deserve clean air, water and soil. You deserve to thrive in an environment that supports you.

Dear Donatella,

We ran through the woods laughing, crying, and living.

Dear Nolan, Patrick, Cullen and Gabriel,

This Mother’s Day I am again thinking of my grandsons future and what I am doing to change the world if only by a small fraction.

Dear Future Self,

I hope you got your dream job of using your business degree to reduce co2 emissions and promote sustainable energy.

My Dear Paloma,

I’m going to commit to raising you with your eyes open. Being aware as much as we can, how to better our environment together.

Dear Tomorrow,

I will stop using plastic and will plant trees. I will also not waste water and electricity.

To My Future Children,

I hope by 2050, our society has taken initiative to be producing energy solely through renewable sources.

Dear Tomorrow,

And, if this summer has taught me anything, I am content (because I have to be) living in this limbo, this seemingly endless waiting for the opportunity to change, when really the opportunity exists within our very selves all along.

Dear Corey,

I promise to do all within my power to create a world that’s safe for you and your generation.

To my future self,

It is today on March 6th, 2017 that you have made the decision to make a difference in this world.

Dear Yasmine,

I tried to teach you of the importance of being satisfied with what you had within your hands.

Dear Tomorrow

I hope that environmental issues are a thing of the past.
