Dear People of 2050,

Hello future bright minds of the next century. It is the year 2019 and on my end I just woke up to a cold then hot November 25th. It hasn’t been as cold as it should be yet most people at the moment don’t seem to care. I am not sure if anyone in the year 2050 is experiencing this hot cold/hot weather. I sure hope by then our north pole has been fully restored to it’s prominent snow conditions and not a pile of mud. My pledge to stop driving my car as much to stop my car from emitting more carbons into the atmosphere and I pledge to eat less beef so maybe less cows are slaughtered in their massive polluted process. My kids and grandkids will adopt a whole new greener life with solar and wind energy. I’m hoping by then in 2050 I may be still alive to see just how much we have progressed maybe community gardens will be more common in larger cities. I just started my own garden in my backyard so I would be less dependent on buying foods that have travelled far. So I wish you all the best in the year 2050 if I’m dead then remember that this planet is the only one we got.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow

I promise to educate others TODAY.

Dear Tomorrow,

Less meat, more on my feet!

To my sons,

I’m voting with climate change as a top priority. I’ve tried to teach you boys that we need to clean up after ourselves and take care of the earth. I promise to continue doing these actions and more, for your sake.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

Dear future me,

I am 19 years old, and I am angry.

Dear Rowan and Anaka,

If we could talk, I would not be able to bear your gaze as you ask: How could you, the people in a position to change the course of climate change, fail to act?

To my dear son Zac,

I promise to raise you as a loving-nature human.

Dear Alanna and Valeria,

I promise you to keep trying, to keep educating, to keep pushing our elected officials to act and protect your health now and in the future.

Dear future Michelle,

As consumers, it is our duty to protest and force companies to be greener and avoid environmental damage, whether they are from the food industry or from any other production industry. It’s about time we start thinking greener.

Dear Maret,

Right now I want to be hopeful. Right now I want to think that we took action to ensure this beautiful future for you.

To my Children,

As you look through your window, I hope you will see a bright future. I hope you dream big, and that you have the courage, drive, and fortitude to do everything you can to achieve those dreams.

To my children,

If there is one thing that I taught you it is to be honest in your decisions as they pertain to yourselves and the earth in which you live.
