Dear Future Me,

I love taking long walks through the woods with my dog. He enjoys being taken off the leash and running around chasing his favorite tennis ball. Seeing him happy makes me happy.

The woods have always been one of my favorite places to be. It brings me serenity and helps me stay connected with nature. But, a lot of our actions are impacting the trees, such as our diet. I want to be able to enjoy the beautiful and healthy woods in the future, just like I do now with my dog.

I promise that I will change my behavior to benefit our trees. I will eat less meat to reduce the amount of forests being cut down for ranches and agriculture. I will be sure to vote for people in power who consider and act upon the environmental issues. I will use less paper. And, I promise I will plant a tree.

More Messages to the Future

Caro me stesso,

Non so dove e con chi sarò nel 2050, spero che sia un anno migliore di quello appena passato .

To the generation after mine,

But when you encounter that resistance–and you will, regularly–know that you must respond just how we have had to these past 50 years. With love, and sternness, and most of all, courage. Because that is what the resistance fears the most. We who came before you promise that we will do the same while we wait for you. Know that you will never be alone.

Dear Generations to Be,

If we could all slow down, look around and connect: with each other, the Earth, the sky, the plants and rocks and animals, then maybe we can all remember to treat everyone and everything with respect and live in love.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to reduce electricity at home. I will turn off the TV and lights when I’m not in the room.

Dear residents of Bedminster, Bristol UK,

We hope we did enough

Dear Future Generations,

Dear Future Generations,

Dear Devon and Chloe

I hope that my work helping to make your schools more sustainable will be something you carry on as you grow older.

Dear Indigenous Persons with Disabilities,

Dear Indigenous Persons with Disabilities,

Dear A and C,

You are growing up in a time of immense change. In the last two years alone, we’ve learned so much about big and important issues including climate change and the systemic racism that runs through our institutions.

Dear grandkids,

I believe this fusion of ecology and economy backed by the digital technology is our great achievement.

Dear future generations,

Past generations took all the trees, polluted all the water, fished all the fish, and hunted all the animals so that there’s almost nothing nice left.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will only use renewable energy.
