Dear next generation,

As we see with our own eyes, the world continues to change while we continue to neglect it. As a child, the world and nature seem to be filled with an adventure that will always be there for us. However, as we grow older we find that this may not be so true. I grew up being able to enjoy the outdoors and I hope you all are able to same the same thing. I promise to help others see that we must make a change in our daily lives in order to ensure that our future generations are able to enjoy the outdoors the same way we have.

Estou esperando ansiosa sua chegada pra que a gente possa fazer muitas coisas boas juntos, uma delas, é cuidar bem do nosso planeta.

Dear Ari and Levi,

Luckily, we have figured out ways to build things without making the air dirty, and we are trying very hard to get more people to switch over to this new way as fast as we can.

Dear… Parents,

Let us teach our children to volunteer and donate.

Dear Future Ryan,

I promise to be a knight in the campaign of truth seeking.

I pledge to use less plastic.

My dear granddaughter Christy,

My own curiosity and knowing what a caring, aware young woman you are help me override despair.

Dear Future Self,

More than getting through a global pandemic that has already taken hundreds of thousands of lives around the world, our true feat is even larger: to secure our long-term health and the health of the ecosystems upon which we depend for life. To do that, we have to cut our emissions in half in the next ten years, and continue to reduce it beyond that. And to succeed in that, we need to fundamentally shift the way we do EVERYTHING.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to sign up for 100% renewable energy.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to never use a plastic straw.

A love letter to my son

I hope this year is a real turning point and by the time you’re a teenager, your life is powered almost entirely by clean energy like solar and wind.
