Dear Children of the future,

My name is Isaac and I am a 16-year-old from Salem, Oregon. I am worried now that we will and have failed to act on the scale necessary to protect you and the ones you love. I am somebody who is interested in politics and would like to have a future in that field. I can promise you that I will be doing everything I can to make sure we take bold climate action.

Sincerely a brother from the past.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Earth,

I will keep the air clean so everyone can see the sunset.

Dear Tomorrow,

Don’t use plastic straws!

Para minha querida filha, Vitória,

Consegue compreender que estamos aqui de passagem e que temos por obrigação apenas tomar emprestado, evitado excessos e principalmente agradecer.

Dear Me of 2050,

I promise that I will plant more trees in places where there are none.

Dear Tomorrow,

And, if this summer has taught me anything, I am content (because I have to be) living in this limbo, this seemingly endless waiting for the opportunity to change, when really the opportunity exists within our very selves all along.

Dear Sadie,

You are young and have a rich future ahead of you. I am retired and aiming for a high quality of cultural life and comfort with whatever time remains to me. I do not want to see a world whose elders sacrifice your future for their short-term needs and personal gain. So it’s up to you and me to speak out.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will encourage everyone to get OUT of their cars and onto public transit.

Dear Makena,

Sweetie, you deserve clean air, water and soil. You deserve to thrive in an environment that supports you.

To my grandchildren’s children,

I became an activist to be part of a force to save the natural world and go 100% clean energy.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will only use renewable energy.

To my Maria and her children,

I have to tell you something: it is so hard to keep our life “green” for now, but we still keep trying.

Dear Tripp,

I promise to do my part, supporting federal legislation to protect our earth while starting small with projects at home.
