Dear Seb and Max,

I want your children and grandchildren to have forests to explore, glaciers to view, and clean air to breathe. I want you to travel the world, live healthy lives, and and enjoy what this world has to offer. Climate change threatens all of that.

I commit to addressing the climate crisis by helping young people gain skills and tools they need to take climate action, to mobilize others in their communities, and wake up world leaders to enact climate policy. We need to act now so that you can have a full life.

Dear Spike, Loulou and Yoshua,

I’m going to start a campaign to try to convince everybody in the Netherlands to not eat meat one day a week.

Dear Finn and Cy,

I think a lot about what you might be like when you grow up and about what kind of world you will live in.

Dear Ellis,

So, dear heart, I am doing everything I can as the situation worsens.

To My Future Child(ren),

The fact that you are reading this means that you would know the answer to a question that has kept me up at night more often than I would like to admit: Did I make you proud?

Dear future loved ones,

As I sit here and write to you, I’d like to share with you something more horrifying than a few boos – our current home, Earth.

Dear Elliot and Alana,

But being truthful, I know we are not yet on the path that will lead to the change that is needed; but it is visible.

Hey Kiddos!

My hope for you is that all our legislative efforts and care for the environment makes a difference so that we can wipe asthma out of our family.

Dear Tomorrow,

I am so sorry we didn’t realize this predicament sooner.

Dear grandkids,

I believe this fusion of ecology and economy backed by the digital technology is our great achievement.

To My Grandchildren,

It’s my hope that the following will be helpful as you navigate your futures.  These are the confessions of a climate activist:
