Dear Granddaughter Rosalia,

I promise you that I always will take action to keep the water clean, the air unpolluted and the land free on agro-toxics…. Wherever I find myself in this world, I will contribute to increasing people’s awareness about the urgent need to change our unsustainable behaviors that are damaging our Mother Nature. This is my heritage for you my beautiful cacheticos de melon. Love you so much

More Messages to the Future

Dear People Of The Future,

It’s scary, this is the stuff you see in movies about the end of the world.

Isabelle minha querida neta!

Nossa vida só tem qualidade se tem natureza ao nosso redor.

Dear Finn and Cy,

I think a lot about what you might be like when you grow up and about what kind of world you will live in.

Dear Future,

I will use less plastic.

Dear future family and friends,

This is our house.

Dear Future Me,

I hope that when we look back on these years,  you’ll see that humanity can be good. That we joined together and fixed it because of we don’t, who will?

To what we’ve overcome.

The first step would be in overcoming ourselves. Because whether we end up fading into obscurity, or thriving in prosperity, we will overcome ourselves.

To My Future Self,

This lead me to my final project, which focused on reforming the education system to incorporate sustainability classes into the current curriculum.

Dear future 82-year old me,

29 years later, I wish I still can ride bike and go some lovely places in nature. Sky is blue and air is fresh, I will be shining under the sun.

To My Future Nephews,

I want you to see those corn fields in the north, the beautiful beaches down in Florida, and the stars in the woods at night.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to drive less and walk more.

Dear Tomorrow,

I’m not allowed to talk about climate change around family; as my mom warned me, “climate change is not something that people think about in Mississippi.” But I’m worried for my family’s future.
