Dear future human,

I am sorry that we have handed the world over to you in the state that it is in. It’s not my generation’s fault, we have been trying to reverse the changes. I sit here from the perspective of a young person losing hope. In my 19 years of life I have watched racism, systematic oppression, greed, and a disregard for the earth’s living things and the way it has affected our society. I want to hope that you are living in a better society, but I honestly don’t know. I do know that my individual actions are working to create a better future for everyone. Despite feeling powerless I know that one person can make a difference.

More Messages to the Future

Oh My Lovely Faizan,

I love you my son. You are waking up now. Hopefully tomorrow, more of us will, too.

Dear Elliott,

We’re moving into uncertain times, and your dad and I worry. A lot. But you’re keeping us going. You’re pushing us to make better choices and not give up.

Dear Malasher and Alex,

My goal was to help you grow into better citizens of our planet; to help you care about our natural world and to make everyday choices that reflect concern for our beautiful earth and our own health as well as encourage you to work together to make changes in our community.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise my next vehicle will be an EV.

Dear Tomorrow,

My promise is to continue to dedicate my life, my business, and my future to creating cultures that embrace environmental action not only for our own good, but the good of the countless other species hurting from climate change.

I promise to stop eating junk food.

Querida Tainah,

Quero que você beba água pura, coma alimentos sem agrotóxicos e que sua casinha branca com varanda, seja voltada para o leste, onde o sol vai nascer.

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear future niece or nephew,

We loved hiking, camping, biking, swimming and playing as kids together.

Dear Nova and Remi,

I wish for you both that another kind of life has been discovered, one of peace, moderation and concern for all life.

Dear Gabriel,

A message from co-founder Jill Kubit:
Writing letters to our kids about climate change is hard. It should be.

To my future Niece,

While I will work my hardest to create any positive change I can, you must continue this quest. You cannot give up hope, and you must always remember that the beauty on this Earth is worth saving.
