Dear family,

I hope you live in a world where the environment and climate change is no longer a pressing concern. I hope the inventors of the world have developed a new way to be human without taking from the natural world we live in. I hope your generation has figured it out by realizing that it is not ‘humans vs the world’. That humans are part of the world and we need to work for the silent planet.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

And, if this summer has taught me anything, I am content (because I have to be) living in this limbo, this seemingly endless waiting for the opportunity to change, when really the opportunity exists within our very selves all along.

To my daughters,

In order for you two be happy and healthy, we all need to work hard to prevent climate change.

Dear Future Self,

Although this is hard for me I promise I will start to consume more chicken rather than red meat but also more vegetable since they are less harsh on our environment.

Dear Tripp,

I promise to do my part, supporting federal legislation to protect our earth while starting small with projects at home.

To my future kids:

Grandpa took me and your Uncle Max here to go fly fishing, which I hope to be able to to do with you in your lifetime.

Dear tomorrow,

It’s time to make a difference, for the world’s sake.

Dear Maya, Emilio and Daniel,

We thought that the world was an endless supply of whatever we wanted… I know it sounds hard to believe, but that is the way it was.

Oh My Lovely Faizan,

I love you my son. You are waking up now. Hopefully tomorrow, more of us will, too.

Dear Matthew,

I do not know if you’ll ever see the beautiful world that I saw.

To my dear son,

Last year most of the world’s reefs turned white at some point, but because it was underwater you and your friends didn’t see.

To my Dad,

I hope on this Father’s Day, my 24th birthday, and the rest of days, we remember that the most basic part of life is living happy with the ones we love. Acting every day against climate change will allow us to keep that simple piece of humanity.

Dear future generations,

I promise to be more cognizant of how my day to day activities affect the environment and to make changes to reduce my overall impact.
