To my lovely children,

It is the year 2017 and we have been experiencing some major environmental changes that are of great concern. These changes have caused the destruction of natural habitats and many animal species are in danger. Some countries have also suffered from natural disasters, leaving many people helpless and homeless. To this day, many people are still in denial when it comes to accepting the fact that global warming is happening and climate change will continue to occur unless we unite and do something about it. I am doing as much as I can for you guys to grow up in a green world full of fresh air in which you guys can continue to enjoy this beautiful planet. I hope that when you children are older, you will continue to promote awareness and do your part to save the earth.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to use a refillable bottle, bring my own resusable spoon/form wherever I go, use clean personal care products (without chemicals).

Oi Luc,

Estou esperando ansiosa sua chegada pra que a gente possa fazer muitas coisas boas juntos, uma delas, é cuidar bem do nosso planeta.

Dear Son,

I hope with effective action to combat this climate change will we have a better world in the future.

Dear Hannah, Harper and future baby of Ryan and Colleen Lane,

I will not stop fighting for a more sustainable future, your future.

Dear Me of 2050,

I promise that I will plant more trees in places where there are none.

Dear future me,

I am 19 years old, and I am angry.

Dear Eleanor,

You are so small. So innocent. So beautiful. For you and for everyone else, I will try harder.

Dear future generations,

It’s never too late to make a difference. Our actions have very real consequences. We can educate ourselves, learn from our mistakes, and take action. We can hold companies like big oil and big plastic accountable for their negative impacts on the environment. We can educate ourselves and others about what causes climate change and what actions we as individuals can take to lower our carbon footprints.

Dear kids of America,

Please eliminate plastic everything

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to reach out to more people to ditch driving and consider using public transportation. I promise to convince Marin markets that sensible policies in density and mixed use planning will further enhance everyone’s quality of life.

Dear Me of Tomorrow,

I plan to plant more things this spring, as we do every year in our garden.
