To Future Generations,

I apologize for the state my generation has left the planet Earth in but who knows we may have inhabited Mars by now. Maybe you guys start to reverse the effects that you were left in. Maybe there is fly cars that will save the planet or it will be dug further into the ground hopefully not. Word of advice I can give you though is definitely if you’re gonna play video games you have to play Pokemon and life advice is Don’t Do Drugs that is a big one for me.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Future,

I asked you, the future , to help us as well, to preserve our only planet that can give us life, that can let us watch anime, go to the beach, smell flowers, run through the meadow, listen to our songs, be in a concert, and let us live.

Dear my future family,

I will promise to help climate change as much as I can.

Dear Gabriel,

When the worst consequences of climate change still feel far away today, or the barriers to acting on climate change seem steep today, I do not think about today. I think about you, and your world when you are my age.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ask five of my friends to plant trees.

To older Rochelle,

You should’ve reduced your carbon footprint, should be using some source of renewable energy and be a vegetarian by now.

Dear Kids of the Future,

My wish for all of you is that the people of the present wake up and are able to change their habits.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to reach out to more people to ditch driving and consider using public transportation. I promise to convince Marin markets that sensible policies in density and mixed use planning will further enhance everyone’s quality of life.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to go DEEP GREEN

Dear Jackson,

I feel deeply that it is my moral obligation as your Mom to protect your future and allow you to inherit a clean and healthy planet.

Dear Tomorrow,

Be the person who shows up. Be the person who continues to advocate for change because change is possible – it is possible in the most partisan of politics.

We will look back on our time here and ask, “What did I do?”

If we truly live our present moment, maybe you’ll have a future.

To My Children and My Future Grandchildren,

People are an amazing race and, if we have the will, I believe we have the ingenuity and resources to fix the harm we’ve done.
