Dear My future child,

Currently, in the year 2021, the Earth is warming at an alarming rate due to human activity, primarily from fossil fuel burning. When I close my eyes and imagine what the world can look like in 2050, I see change being made on our planet. In order to experience a bright future, I understand that I need to take action now to make my visualization a reality. For example, I am going to start eating less meat, cutting back on flying on airplanes, shopping responsibly, and cutting down on waste. Most importantly, I will appreciate the world that I have today through the value of sustainability. The value of sustainability focuses on protecting and appreciating our ecosystems so that they can continue to provide for future generations, like you. I will use my voice to spread the importance of slowing down climate change so that you can live a long and healthy life surrounded by thriving ecosystems.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Madeleine,

First of all I hope we succeeded in our dream that yours is a better world than the world of 2021. Today, the forests are burning, the sea levels are rising and wild weather is everywhere. But we are working hard and I’m confident we will succeed.

Our Shared Promise

I will act today so you may have a healthy earth to live on.

Dear Bella,

I promise that I shall continue to do all that is within my capabilities to leave you a world where there is fairness and justice.

Dear Tomorrow

I will teach my children about a greener earth.

Dear me,

Remember how passionate you felt at 20, I hope you keep that passion in you and are still working on climate 30 years from now.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate action is to educate youth to create solutions for energy efficiency and conservation opportunities.

dear future people (:

I am writing this message to you guys. When I look outside my window today, I see a beautiful world that others and myself call “home sweet home.” The trees glimmering in warm sunlight, the air stirring a cool breeze, and the water flowing down rivers are parts of our home Mother Earth.

Dear Jeremy,

We had a lot in common obviously, and our concern for the planet we live on was one of the many things we bonded over.

Dear future 82-year old me,

29 years later, I wish I still can ride bike and go some lovely places in nature. Sky is blue and air is fresh, I will be shining under the sun.

To my children,

I hope that the fervor that is building continues to build and spread and that the world has made progress to minimize the effects of our past actions.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.
