Dear future generation,

I’m sorry for the way my generation treated our planet and harmed the minds of the youth. Whether it was through media or making drug abuse the norm or pumping harmful chemicals in to the air, polluting natural lands and destroying the habitats and homes of many animals. I’m sorry that many of you may not know what or ever get to see a rhino, sea turtles, or even something as simple as a fish. I just hope that at the time of me writing this letter someone is doing something for future generations.

More Messages to the Future

Dearest Gray,

When I asked you why the purple Violet called to you, you told me it was “magic”. I hope that you can still find the magic of life. I hope, despite everything, it is still in abundance.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to never use a plastic straw.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to pick up trash at every beach I visit 🙂 and to bike for local errands.

Dear World,

I vow that I will try to make a difference every day, so that you may enjoy the world as I have.

Queridos filhos Heloísa e Henzo,

Tenho muito orgulho da minha função (agente de fiscalização ambiental do Acre) pois é através dela que posso dar um pouco do meu suor, para que no futuro ambos possam ter um lugar melhor para viver.

Dear tomorrow,

The blue sky will no longer be grey, and the bleak clouds will be vibrant.

Dear Tomorrow,

And, if this summer has taught me anything, I am content (because I have to be) living in this limbo, this seemingly endless waiting for the opportunity to change, when really the opportunity exists within our very selves all along.

My grandchildren,

I promise to do my very best to educate your parents as best I can.

I promise to take shorter showers.

Dear my future loved ones,

I hope that humans can live harmoniously with the earth.

Greetings 2050 earthling,

Starting in 2015 I committed my life to sustainability.

Dear Great Grandchildren,

If you are reading this, you probably inherited my fascination with ancestry, and the way it uncovers incredible stories of unlikely survival.
