Dear Earth,

I really don’t understand why some people disregard you and your system. I don’t understand why people don’t care about extreme climate events and temperatures when they are knocking our door every day and every second. I ask myself: can’t they see the risk we’re willing to take and the time we’re losing to save the world? I can’t understand why they refuse to use clean energy, when it is good for us and for you, when its benefits are welcome for the whole world! Why? Why so much arrogance and opposition to what is the right way to go? Why delay in acting? It’s like we want to suffer, to prove it deeply, just to see where we’ll arrive in this old way! Well, I just hope someday everyone will wake up before it’s too late. Oh, I forgot. We are already late! My dream is to wake up someday and see a world that is taking care of nature and is being run on clean energy. Is it possible Earth? Is it an illusion? I hope not. Take care.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Kiya,

Fighting for a system that rewards care for people and planet over profit.

Dear future me,

I’m doing this work because I see it as the best way to save and improve as many lives as possible. I’m doing it so you, 2050 Ryan, can look at yourself in the mirror. And so you can tell your kids and grandkids someday that you did everything you could.

Dear tomorrow,

If there’s one thing young people have learned while quarantining, it’s that Gen Z holds so much power and is capable of a lot more than we think. We’ve created a community that has united us all and started to bring about change for the good of our futures. Now, with the help of Gen Z (and of course, people of all ages), we have the power to save our home, the Earth.

dear future people (:

I am writing this message to you guys. When I look outside my window today, I see a beautiful world that others and myself call “home sweet home.” The trees glimmering in warm sunlight, the air stirring a cool breeze, and the water flowing down rivers are parts of our home Mother Earth.

Dear Tomorrow,

My promise is to continue to dedicate my life, my business, and my future to creating cultures that embrace environmental action not only for our own good, but the good of the countless other species hurting from climate change.

To our sweet grandson Caleb,

We want a safe and beautiful world for you, little Caleb, and for your children and grandchildren. We promise to do our part.

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear Jack,

Right now you are only a little over 5 weeks old, but you have truly changed my whole world. Your Mom and I always say that we thought we loved before you were born, but now that you have come into the world and we met you, our ability to love just expanded exponentially.

I want to tell you a story. Yes, another one.

Mankind has always been able to deal with the greatest challenges it’s faced and this will not be the exception. My message to you is: find that passion and give it your all. ‘Till your legs give out.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will encourage everyone to get OUT of their cars and onto public transit.

Dear Thomas,

When you look at me with those big beautiful eyes and that innocent smile, you make me want to fight harder. And I do.

I promise to plant more flowers.
