Dear Bella,

We were raised very similarly but when I left the nest, I learned about what climate change is and how it could limit our time together. I love how similar and yet so different we are. I would love for for both of us to have children one day to see all that they could offer the world. I would hate to not be able to see that. I promise to make changes in my life as if they depended on that future.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Malasher and Alex,

My goal was to help you grow into better citizens of our planet; to help you care about our natural world and to make everyday choices that reflect concern for our beautiful earth and our own health as well as encourage you to work together to make changes in our community.

Dear Tomorrow,

I’ll buy only food that I plan to eat before it spoils.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will bring permaculture designs to my community.

Dear Ezmae,

As I write this, I consider giving up as it sometimes seems that all is lost. But then I think of you.

Caro me stesso,

Non so dove e con chi sarò nel 2050, spero che sia un anno migliore di quello appena passato .

Dear Ryan,

I hope that you start doing things that will help the world.

Dear Tomorrow,

And, if this summer has taught me anything, I am content (because I have to be) living in this limbo, this seemingly endless waiting for the opportunity to change, when really the opportunity exists within our very selves all along.

I won’t leave my lights on.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to use my reusable water bottle more often

I promise to take shorter showers.

Dear Nieces, Nephews, & Future Children…

If there is any advice I could give you, it is to believe that although you are one single person in this world, you still have the ability to make a difference in this world.

Dear old dude Mårten,

I know that the 2019 version of me (today that is) wished and hoped for that I did all within my power to turn the world around without loosing sight on the beauty of being alive.
