To my future Children, family, and the next generation,

First of all HI, I hope humans are behaving better (more accepting, lovable, nicer), that there has not been a third world war and that all of you are okay and happy. Months ago I saw a movie that showed me that people were suffering, it was not like I did not know about climate change but I just put the sad things that worry me in the back of my head and try not to think about it too often. I am currently trying not to do that anymore. I am sorry I am not doing enough for our planet, you could say I am young (I am 15 years old), but it should not be an excuse. Age is not a excuse, you can help the planet, anywhere and anytime. Teachers at my school keep telling us climate change is real, but my classmates laugh and take it as a joke. Climate change it is not a joke, and it is real! One day I heard one of my classmates tell the rest of the class: “The earth is trying to kill us, that is why climate change exists.” But the earth it is not trying to kill us, we are trying to kill her, our home, it is not fair.

I hope we are doing to stop this destruction!

Love, Ale G. M.

More Messages to the Future

Dear tomorrow,

If there’s one thing young people have learned while quarantining, it’s that Gen Z holds so much power and is capable of a lot more than we think. We’ve created a community that has united us all and started to bring about change for the good of our futures. Now, with the help of Gen Z (and of course, people of all ages), we have the power to save our home, the Earth.

Dear Alanna and Valeria,

I promise you to keep trying, to keep educating, to keep pushing our elected officials to act and protect your health now and in the future.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to pick up trash at every beach I visit 🙂 and to bike for local errands.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will encourage everyone to adopt a plant-based diet. Good for our health, the animals and the planet.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to go DEEP GREEN

Dear Ellie,

My heart is an ocean of love for all the children facing a life of climate catastrophe.

Dear Tomorrow,

And, if this summer has taught me anything, I am content (because I have to be) living in this limbo, this seemingly endless waiting for the opportunity to change, when really the opportunity exists within our very selves all along.

Dear Grandchildren,

I hope we can pass on a better place to live so that my grandchildren and their future children can enjoy the beauty of nature that our wonderful God has given us.

To my precious children,

As you’ve grown older, I’ve become increasingly aware that protecting you means more than ensuring your short-term safety. It also means ensuring that you’ll have a safe planet to live on.

Dear Jeremy,

We had a lot in common obviously, and our concern for the planet we live on was one of the many things we bonded over.

Dear Evie of 2050,

I can feel the change happening — many people are working to transform the world.

Dear Lillyana,

I will continue to work to make the Earth a cleaner and safer place for you to grow and explore.
