To Me,

The average temperature for 2016 was 53.6°F this is because if all of the energy we use a day and makes the temperature go up and by 2050 the low of every day would be around 85∘F. Extreme temperatures can be caused by the intensity of blizzards and snowstorms this making it colder in cold locations. Many extreme weather events need energy mostly in the form of heat as the temp increases the extreme weather events will increase badly. I promise to use less energy so the temperature doesn’t go up anymore.

Sincerely,

Cole W

More Messages to the Future

Dear people of The Future,

Thank you for reading. Do your part to save the globe.

To My Daughter and Future Grandchildren,

There are so many more things that we can do together to help our Earth from the damage that has been done, and I am so excited to teach you.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to educate myself and others about how we can protect and nourish our 1 PLANET

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will eat vegan, organic, locally grown, and seasonal.

Dear Earth,

I will keep the air clean so everyone can see the sunset.

To the generation after mine,

But when you encounter that resistance–and you will, regularly–know that you must respond just how we have had to these past 50 years. With love, and sternness, and most of all, courage. Because that is what the resistance fears the most. We who came before you promise that we will do the same while we wait for you. Know that you will never be alone.

Dear future love,

A culture of consumption is the reason that my world faces such an ecological crisis, it is both necessary and proper to address the fundamental mindsets that have created such a destructive culture.

Dear next generation,

Please don’t wait to see the adverse effects instead adopt that river, stream, lake or ocean to make the world a better place.

Dear Future Self,

I am scared of the things happening right now with our planet.

To my beloved granddaughters, Margaret and Caroline,

Growing up in Germany, I often wondered what my parents had done to oppose the Nazi regime in the 1930’s that led to WWII.  I was so disappointed when I found out how passive they had been. For me, this was formative.

Dear Alanna and Valeria,

I promise you to keep trying, to keep educating, to keep pushing our elected officials to act and protect your health now and in the future.

For those who come after us,

This is for the countless children I already see suffering the impact of climate change around the world, and the generations to follow.
