Dear Tristan,

I am doing what I am able to shut down unconventional gas and coal in Australia, to educate people about the dangers of these industries and burning fossil fuels as well as the need to embrace renewable energy alternatives. I am doing this to protect you, the food, water, air and biodiversity of a country that I love. I hope that I have some influence on a brighter future for you and promise I will continue as long as I can.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

Don’t use plastic straws!

Dear Beloved Children,

As time progresses, there is hope that value will be placed on all living organisms, including humans, plants, and animals. Life will move at a slower pace, and being on your own time and moving at your individual pace will be the typical way of life. I consider this way of life good living, and I hope that future generations will live on this earth as it was once intended to live in peace and harmony.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to reach out to more people to ditch driving and consider using public transportation. I promise to convince Marin markets that sensible policies in density and mixed use planning will further enhance everyone’s quality of life.

Dear Tomorrow,

We only have 11 years left until the damage done by climate change is irreversible.

Dear Future Ryan,

I promise to be a knight in the campaign of truth seeking.

Dear Tomorrow,

It wasn’t about Him, it was about Us. And this isn’t about Me, it’s about You. And it won’t be about You, it will be about Them.

To my future self,

It is today on March 6th, 2017 that you have made the decision to make a difference in this world.

To my Maria and her children,

I have to tell you something: it is so hard to keep our life “green” for now, but we still keep trying.

Dear Donatella,

We ran through the woods laughing, crying, and living.

Dear Me of Tomorrow,

I plan to plant more things this spring, as we do every year in our garden.

I promise to plant more flowers.

Dear Soren,

In this world that is changing before our eyes, I believe that is our task: standing unflinchingly on the side of love, connecting with others, and forging ahead together.
