Dear grand nieces and nephews,

In 2050 you five will be in your mid 30s. An exciting time of life. I wish you all happiness, knowing that my generation, your great uncles, aunts and grandparents took the opportunity to change the world enomomy. To add exciting innovation of clean technologies to power our lives. A cascade of good things came out of our changing—good health, more trees, better soils, more wetlands, cows walking on the beach not in treeless pastures, communities thriving from local investment, wonderful innovations and new technologies. I wish you this security knowing we changed because we love you.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Rowan & Tristan,

I promise to do everything I can as a daughter to our great Mother Earth to protect her wildlife and trees.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to use a water bottle.

I promise to plant trees and to turn off the lights.

My grandchildren,

I promise to do my very best to educate your parents as best I can.

Dear You Tomorrow,

What we failed to do, at least early on, was to see how important it was to put those solutions together. To combine into a way forward.

Dear Gabriel,

One day ten or twenty years from now, when you look back from the future, you will be able to clearly see the entire path.

Dear Tomorrow,

Awareness is key. Learning about this issue can seem like a small effort compared to other actions, but it’s the most important.

Dearest Gray,

When I asked you why the purple Violet called to you, you told me it was “magic”. I hope that you can still find the magic of life. I hope, despite everything, it is still in abundance.

Dear future family and friends,

This is our house.

Chers Enfants,

Chers Enfants,

Dear Potential Future Kiddo,

To think that my choices of sustainable commuting, eating a plant based diet, and working on our City’s zero waste program likely pale in comparison to the impact of not having a baby is nothing short of devastating.  Does it make me a bad environmentalist to honor my maternal instincts?

Dear Future Me,

I hope that when we look back on these years,  you’ll see that humanity can be good. That we joined together and fixed it because of we don’t, who will?
