Dear future generations,

From the day in 2018, sorry we left you with the mess of our earth. I hope you forgive us. We didn’t realize how loss and damage to natural and the environment until it happened. You would see many pictures, that I would make me so sad. For this. Let me tell you, trees are amazing, we literally breathe the air they are creating. They clean up out pollution, our carbon, they store and purify water, give us medicine that cure our diseases, food that feed us. Which is why I’m so sorry, to tell you that, we burned them down, cut them down with brutal machines. Also, I’m so sorry we poisoned the oceans so much that you can’t even swim. I’m so sorry about our wrong mind set. sorry that our footprint became a sinkhole. Now, let me tell you, if you don’t think climate change is a threat, I dare you to interview with the thousands of people who are their homes were literally washed away beneath their feet, due to rising sea levels. Therefore, to save nature is to save us, I promise to pay more attention to how I use water, energy shortage to keep a better and clear sources for you in the future. And I suggest you should do it too. Because if we don’t all work together to save the environment…we will be equally extinct.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow

I will get my roommates to be more environmentally friendly.

To my dearest Gabriel,

What gives me hope is what is yet to come, what you will experience in your lifetime.

Dear grandchild,

There is a place on this planet called the Amazon, and I don’t mean the online shopping site (is that still a thing in your time?).

Dear Matthew, Sam, and Sophie,

There is a promise in the Bible: ‘I shall restore the years that the locusts have eaten’ and that points to a promise of complete healing and restoration. But until that comes I intend to do my best to ‘save the planet’ in whatever way I can, and I encourage you to do the same.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to use a refillable bottle, bring my own resusable spoon/form wherever I go, use clean personal care products (without chemicals).

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to become more educated on the global issues that face populations I can’t see

Dear next generation,

Please don’t wait to see the adverse effects instead adopt that river, stream, lake or ocean to make the world a better place.

For my most dear and only daughter,

And I know life more fully because of you whom I live on through.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

Dear future me,

My hopes have always been to live in a brighter and better generation, where women are respected around the world, human rights are respected and last but not least where animals and mother nature is cared for by us individuals.

Dear Grown up Alton and Dot,

The most important thing in my life is you, which means that as your mom – I am doing my very best to make sure that when you read this letter, Earth is a cleaner and safer place for you and your children.

To My Fellow Two-Spirits,

Thank you — Thank you — without you, I would not hear butterflies singing, without you, I would not understand black bear humor, or the creativity of jays planning their breakfast, without you, I would not feel flora whispers of long-lived wisdom on the back of my neck while sitting in Padmasana.
