Dear Alexander,

Hey Bud, you know this world that’s all around us? How it’s so beautiful and interesting and vast? Don’t you want to protect it and keep it safe and healthy? I mean its given you so much, a place to call home, a family that loves loves you. Don’t you want to support all that its given you and allow others to gain the same things that you have? There are plenty of things that you personally can do so don’t let this planet down. I hasn’t let you down.

Sincerely,

Alex

To my beloved granddaughters, Margaret and Caroline,

Growing up in Germany, I often wondered what my parents had done to oppose the Nazi regime in the 1930’s that led to WWII.  I was so disappointed when I found out how passive they had been. For me, this was formative.

Rachel and Noelle,

I hope in a small way this helps your world.
