To my children and their children,

As I raised you, your Mom and I, made a vow to take you to as many of the natural wonders that this great country has to offer. We visited as many of the national parks as we could reach. We traveled all around and were blessed to experience and grow to love these wild places and the creatures that inhabited them.

Now, the climate changes, these wild place’s plants and animals are stressed and threatened. I wonder if my children, who by our childhood travels grew to love these places, will also be able to take my grandchildren into the wild.

I fear change is just coming over the horizon and not for the good.

Will my Grandchildren be given the opportunity to love these wild places?

All we can do is do our part and consider he ramifications of all of our actions?

More Messages to the Future

Pour ma famille,

Il faut trouver le 7ème sens et se battre pour des causes justes, comme l´amour et la liberté.

Dear Jack,

Right now you are only a little over 5 weeks old, but you have truly changed my whole world. Your Mom and I always say that we thought we loved before you were born, but now that you have come into the world and we met you, our ability to love just expanded exponentially.

To my future self,

It is today on March 6th, 2017 that you have made the decision to make a difference in this world.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to live a car-free lifestyle.

Dear Jamie and Jason,

My inspiration was the two of you. It started with thinking about the world you were inheriting and what your future was going to be like. But then you taught me how important it is to listen to you – to listen to young people.

to my dearest children,

Our future is being made now, and I promise to do everything in my power to make yours safe.

Dear Tomorrow,

No plastic straws, no water bottles, shop local, no meat.

Hi buddy,

I can now see that the solutions are there, that a transition of the magnitude that is needed, is possible.

To My Future Self,

This lead me to my final project, which focused on reforming the education system to incorporate sustainability classes into the current curriculum.

Hey Kiddos!

My hope for you is that all our legislative efforts and care for the environment makes a difference so that we can wipe asthma out of our family.

Dear Future,

I will use less plastic.

Dear June and Colin,

I’m sad and angry that collectively more has not been done to this date. And that still with such dire warnings, obvious impacts, those in power are acting far too slowly.
