Dear future children,

You have been given the opportunity to live in a country that is the most unique place in the world. As you sit back and watch, the world will become more and more decayed. While many sit back and focus on profits and short term gains, those who are not part of the developed and rich will suffer and will be wiped out if action is not taken. It is imperative that we continue to listen to the science that has been researched and proven.

The current state of the United States climate policy is not sustainable and will not be in place for long. I believe the people of this country will begin to realize that ignoring this problem is not an option. While Trump and his EPA head Scott Pruitt continue to dismiss the exigency of this problem, science continues to show the importance of action to save our fellow human beings.

When you are older and able to feel the effects of this problem, you will be met with a new establishment that understands the issues that we have. By this time we will have acknowledged as a society that this problem must be solved. At least this is what I hope and believe will happen. Remember that while you may not feel the effects as closely as some do, those that are in the most impacted regions are in a dire state. In 2060 places like the Maldives and Bangladesh may end up being examples of our failures. Let this stop you from ever feeling the greed that some people feel.

I promise to ride more and drive less.

I promise to put in a rain catcher tank.

Dear Gabriel,

A message from co-founder Jill Kubit:
Writing letters to our kids about climate change is hard. It should be.

Dear Lila

So today, my strong and spunky girl, I promise you this: I will stay vigilant and flexible. I will spread the word.

To My Future Children,

Most importantly, I hope you live in a world where science is taken seriously and fact is clearly distinguished from fiction.

Dear Children,

I wish I had a crystal ball and could peep into it to see you all happy and safe in a world that nourishes you and that is also nourished by you, a world where the resources it provides are as valued as the people in it and not frittered away by greed and power.

I promise to help people! Become more aware!

Dear fellow human,

May my tomorrow include more attention to these details so that you know that I do care.

Dear Eleanor,

You are so small. So innocent. So beautiful. For you and for everyone else, I will try harder.

Dear Hailey and Lily,

We know about this. If we don’t fix this for you, it’s our fault.

Dear Future Grandchildren,

I hope I can look you in the eye and tell you I honestly did everything I could to protect our planet.

Dear future me,

I’m doing this work because I see it as the best way to save and improve as many lives as possible. I’m doing it so you, 2050 Ryan, can look at yourself in the mirror. And so you can tell your kids and grandkids someday that you did everything you could.
