To my descendants,

I’m writing to you from 2019. It’s scary right now, kids!  Developed nations aren’t doing enough to combat climate change. It’s bad news left & right. I want you to have a world with clean water, clean air, biodiversity, community health, and the beauty of the natural world. I personally need to do more and as I learn more about what I can do, I promise, I will.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Students,

I imagine at this point we have dropped our addiction to coal, gas, and oil and that our environment has made a turn for the better with the solar, wind, and other unimagined (at this point) alternative energy choices are in place.

Dear kids of America,

Please eliminate plastic everything

Dear Tomorrow,

I’ll buy only food that I plan to eat before it spoils.

Dear future generations,

I pledge to you now that I will work tirelessly and with all my willpower so you don’t have to live in a world where you have to worry about the next storm.

To My Future Children,

Most importantly, I hope you live in a world where science is taken seriously and fact is clearly distinguished from fiction.

To our future generations,

I want you to know that some of us do care and we are working towards a better future for you.

Dear Emilia and Tommy,

We, in our time, still have the chance to change course. We have the knowledge and emergent means, even the profitable technologies, to do so.

I pledge to stop using plastic bags.

To earth & its inhabitants,

Its been heavy on my shoulders since I found out about the state of climate woes as a child.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to reach out to more people to ditch driving and consider using public transportation. I promise to convince Marin markets that sensible policies in density and mixed use planning will further enhance everyone’s quality of life.
