Queridos netos Beatriz e Noah,

No dia em que vocês receberem esta mensagem a vovó Laura estará pulando sobre as nuvens deste céu que vocês olham e sentem a amplitude. Como eu disse a vocês estarei ali observando e admirando suas atitudes. Espero que tenham aprendido a melhor conviver com o mundo e, em especial, com a natureza. Desejo que estejam contribuindo para uma atmosfera saudável e agradável, e que todos estejam contribuindo para a redução da poluição e, consequentemente, para o equilíbrio do planeta. Que as árvores, os rios, a terra estejam recebendo a atenção que precisam para dar sustentabilidade aos seres vivos. Que os homens tenham contribuído para a “freada” do aquecimento global – uma ameaça terrível no tempo da vovó. Há pessoas empenhadas numa mudança de atitude. Espero que, quando vocês estiverem lendo esta mensagem as pessoas já tenham entendido que qualquer ação, por menor que seja, em favor do meio ambiente muito contribuirá para o futuro. Enfim, desejo ardentemente que vocês possam estar respirando um ar puro, comendo alimentos saudáveis e bebendo água cristalina e que saibam o quanto é importante tudo isso ser preservado. Com amor. It’s never too late to make a difference. Our actions have very real consequences. We can educate ourselves, learn from our mistakes, and take action. We can hold companies like big oil and big plastic accountable for their negative impacts on the environment. We can educate ourselves and others about what causes climate change and what actions we as individuals can take to lower our carbon footprints.
 

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to take my bike everywhere. Taking Golden Gate Transit to SF tonight.

My climate promise is to stop using electricity too much.
 

Dear Child,

Hope we get to have that snowball fight I always dreamed we’d have.
