Hello future people,

I am sorry we are not doing enough to move towards green energy. It is unfortunate that we have to fight for clean water, greenspace, basic housing and clean environments. Greed has moved humans towards our doom. I have done much to move towards being green. In little ways I have tried to impact my carbon footprint. I use bamboo toothbrushes, I shop local and organic, I drive as little as I can and I take action in green bills and laws. However, it always seems no matter the march or the vote I take on my ballot, someone with a bigger wallet buys the vote. We still suffer from those who deny climate change. I see the greed of Monsanto, the oil and other powerful companies.  We see the struggles of Standing Rock and the damage done to Puerto Rico, yet we deny our earth is sick. I have little hope for what change we have done by your time. I am unsure if we have created better ways to get our energy or if we have moved to becoming a more sustainable world. I promise you I will continue to fight even when I am tired and I feel as though there is no point.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Jackson,

I feel deeply that it is my moral obligation as your Mom to protect your future and allow you to inherit a clean and healthy planet.

to my dearest children,

Our future is being made now, and I promise to do everything in my power to make yours safe.

My dear granddaughter Christy,

My own curiosity and knowing what a caring, aware young woman you are help me override despair.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to switch from “light” to “deep” green.

Dear future love,

A culture of consumption is the reason that my world faces such an ecological crisis, it is both necessary and proper to address the fundamental mindsets that have created such a destructive culture.

Dear Future Grandchildren,

I hope I can look you in the eye and tell you I honestly did everything I could to protect our planet.

Dear future generations,

I pledge to you now that I will work tirelessly and with all my willpower so you don’t have to live in a world where you have to worry about the next storm.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will use less fossil fuels.

To my unborn children, hey it’s mummy Cris here!

I am witnessing climate change in a way that I do not like, and I do not know how can I stop it.

Dear child,

The journey of humanity does not take us to Mars like the world now likes to believe. It takes us home to our true self where there is no separate self. Where we are all one. You know all this. Look after yourself my child, look after your brother, your friends, your children, all the animals and the whole planet. Love them like there is no tomorrow.

Dear Birds,

will continue championing land preservation and the restoration of woodland, prairie and wetland habitats. I will not stop advocating for “bird friendly” legislation to make cities safer for your passage.
