To the people of the future,

I wish for many things in the future, but for a better world for people in the future. What I mean by this is that I want a world where we can preserve the earth we live in and not also have world crisises and catastrophes such as world war three and other natural disasters such as Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria. The world has lots of crises such as loss of water, gas, and other resources that we need to survive. As I have learned in my Metr 112 class, we have landslides and earthquakes and changes in our climate that causes the greenhouse gases to make the environment too hot to live in. So, religious leaders such as Pope Francis the first of Italy were right in having a need to have one of the things we focus on as global climate change.

Some things we need to work on is preserving clean waters, and not releasing fossil fuels into our oceans, and having an atmosphere where there is less heat and the ice caps in the north are preserved. The weather is changing because we are not using enough eco-friendly things and we are using more appliances and not using solar to conserve energy and produce less of a greenhouse gas effect, which heats up the atmosphere. I want a place where people can live and still have all the fun and bliss that they want, such a life with their families and loved ones and we can’t pass on a place of goodness if we do not do this now for the future generations.

I wish for a place where we can live, sustain life and have all the things we ever wanted to enjoy with loved ones. I hope God grants my wish!

Sincerely, with love,

More Messages to the Future

My dearest children Ameilia and Alivia,

I want you to hear the whispers of the seasons changing. The rustling of leaves as they gracefully cascade down from their limbs in the fall, birds singing in spring, and frogs that serenade the summer night.

Olá minhas Florzinhas!!!

Minhas florzinhas é isso…. vamos a batalha , procurar se informar sobre empresas que são amigas do meio ambiente, tentar banir as empresas que poluem nosso ar, nossos rios.

Dear Eleanor,

Send new updated messages to your loved ones at DearTomorrow

Dear Future Self,

I hope you got your dream job of using your business degree to reduce co2 emissions and promote sustainable energy.

To my brother’s children,

We wondered about how we might be able to eliminate plastics from our day to day routines, and recycled literally everything. We were amazing, you should have seen us. Now and again though, we wondered if these were the right questions.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will take short showers, eat less meat, and buy local more often.

To Annika, Anders, Stella, Eva, and Mickey,

In writing to you, I realize that I don’t want you to be hard on yourself if you choose to not make this your cause. But it is mine, so I hope that you hold me accountable to some of what I wrote here.

Our Shared Promise

I will act today so you may have a healthy earth to live on.

Dear Gorasia descendants,

I will do all that I can, and hope my fellow inhabitants join my pursuit, to nurture this planet.

Dearest Finlay,

I hope you are healthy and happy and that you feel supported by the ecosystem around you because we are all deeply truly interconnected. We depend on the earth to take care of us, and nature needs us to take care of her in turn. We all need each other.

To my Kids,

I wish you all the best and always make sure that you can be proud of yourself and don’t need status-symbols for feeling nice.

Dear Gabriel,

A message from co-founder Jill Kubit:
Writing letters to our kids about climate change is hard. It should be.
