To the future generations,

Earth really sucks. It wasn’t always like this though. Earth was a very great place before we took it for granted. Our world used to have a great and stable climate and there used to be a great amount of forests that were homes to many animals. Our generation is sorry that you may not get to see some of those animals as some are endangered right now and may go extinct soon. It is rather sad that many of the animals that we had the chance to make sure were safe and had home are dying from our beliefs that we should hunt some of the animals or destroy their homes that provide for them. We are sorry for the immense amount of pollution in the air and oceans that we have made. Please don’t be as ignorant as we were with the planet. You have the chance to help us save the planet. Don’t make the wrong choices like we made.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Alanna and Valeria,

I promise you to keep trying, to keep educating, to keep pushing our elected officials to act and protect your health now and in the future.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will bring permaculture designs to my community.

To my dear son Zac,

I promise to raise you as a loving-nature human.

My darling Cassidy,

I know I need to write this to you, and I don’t want to because it makes me so sad. I have been desperately avoiding my feelings about climate change, for many years, but especially and with greater intensity every year since you were born.

Dear Grandchild,

I now feel less overwhelmed and powerless, and I am determined to fight for our planet and your future.

To our future generations,

I want you to know that some of us do care and we are working towards a better future for you.

Dear Tomorrow,

The only way to survive it, even if you don’t feel like you’re winning, is to keep your hands on the rope.

Dear future child whatever your name is,

Climate change right now is really bad, I’m writing this during the COP26 conference in Glasgow (which is an hour away) and I’m listening to politicians talking about promises for the future. “If we fail, future generations will never forgive us.” -Boris Johnson

Dear Potential Future Kiddo,

To think that my choices of sustainable commuting, eating a plant based diet, and working on our City’s zero waste program likely pale in comparison to the impact of not having a baby is nothing short of devastating.  Does it make me a bad environmentalist to honor my maternal instincts?

Dear Ellis,

So, dear heart, I am doing everything I can as the situation worsens.

Hey Kiddos!

My hope for you is that all our legislative efforts and care for the environment makes a difference so that we can wipe asthma out of our family.

To my sons,

I’m voting with climate change as a top priority. I’ve tried to teach you boys that we need to clean up after ourselves and take care of the earth. I promise to continue doing these actions and more, for your sake.
