To my grandchildren,

If you are reading this then that means the world is still intact as you are reading this message, however I don’t know how the world looks like right now, all I can tell you that the world that I’ve lived in was beautiful, especially the nature with lovely animals that shares the same home as us. Do not ever forget that. We, the humans, are just a visitor who happens to settle on Earth, which means that we have to take care of it, so that the people living after you can also get a glimpse of this gorgeous world. Take the way that we live as an example of not what to do. Taking away the opportunities of those who have not come yet so that people can live lavishly. Remember there are ways that we can live our lives to the fullest while persevering the environment the way that it was. Don’t make the same mistakes that we did.We made those mistakes so that you don’t have to. Remember to stay discipline. Nothing else matters more than saving the only home that we have.

More Messages to the Future

Dear World,

The environment is important – take care of your actions to not destroy it starting from now.

Queridos nietas/nietos,

Creo que debo hacer más. Por ello, he decidido escribir esta breve carta para empezar un proceso en el que vaya escribiendo más cartas, conforme vaya teniendo más claridad de mis posibles contribuciones.

People of tomorrow,

Your path will only be as clear tomorrow as we have made it for you today.

Dear Son,

I hope with effective action to combat this climate change will we have a better world in the future.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I’ll replace our lights with LED lights.

Dear Evie of 2050,

I can feel the change happening — many people are working to transform the world.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to try to set up crowd funding for grants to people with realistic proposals to fight climate change.

Dear future generations,

Past generations took all the trees, polluted all the water, fished all the fish, and hunted all the animals so that there’s almost nothing nice left.

To my future children,

It’s not enough to just recycle. I will sign petitions and call my local representatives. I will also engage in conversations about climate change – even with people with whom I don’t see eye-to-eye.

Dear Future Me,

I promise that I will change my behavior to benefit our trees.

Dear Evan,

What has most inspired me to act is wanting to be able to look you in the eye and say, “When I became aware of the existential threat of climate change, I did all I could.”  Despite my pessimism, I act in the hope it can make a difference for future generations and all the precious life on our fragile planet.

Dear Grandchildren,

So here we are. In 2022 millions of people are suffering from the climate catastrophes, killing pollution and pandemic, not mentioning about poverty, gender and social injustice, racism, wars and dictatorships that can go on as long as bad people in power are allowed to grab our natural resources.
