To my future Family,

It has become increasingly apparent now that the world in which we live has become tired and unable to sustain the demands and needs of humanity. In my lifetime I have come to understand that the concept of pillaging and misusing of valuable natural resources has been normalized. The governments which lead our world today have decided to turn their back on the generation of tomorrow, their policies and actions have demonstrated their indifference to climate change. However, I wanted you to know I’m trying my best to do my part, to become an active promoter of our planet’s health. I wanted to pledge a promise to you, and that is that I will from this day forward, attempt to live a lifestyle that is cognizant of the health of our planet.  And that I will in my own way make as many individuals liable for their contributions to our planets health, whether good or bad. With a lot of hope, I wish that our world is saved and continuously nurtured in your lifetime. And that by  the time that  you reach my age you are able to enjoy this earth in the ways that I did.

To my future children,

It’s not enough to just recycle. I will sign petitions and call my local representatives. I will also engage in conversations about climate change – even with people with whom I don’t see eye-to-eye.

Dear Future Me,

I hope that when we look back on these years,  you’ll see that humanity can be good. That we joined together and fixed it because of we don’t, who will?

Dear Yasmine,

I tried to teach you of the importance of being satisfied with what you had within your hands.
