To my future children,

I hope a lot of things for you. There are many problems in this world, but that does not mean that you have any less of a right to be here. I currently live in an age full of hatred, violence, and with a dying planet. I hope that you do not have to face the same problems that I do on a daily basis. I hope that you are living in a world where having breathing problems is not associated with an early childhood death. I hope that you are healthy enough to live past adolescence and can be a part of creating some good in the world. At the end of the day I hope that you are happy and healthy. It is something that is taken for granted and something I hope you cherish. Our planet is dying and I hope that you have an opportunity to take in all of the beauty it has to offer.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear Madeleine,

First of all I hope we succeeded in our dream that yours is a better world than the world of 2021. Today, the forests are burning, the sea levels are rising and wild weather is everywhere. But we are working hard and I’m confident we will succeed.

Dear friend,

I will fight for this cause and I will never ever give up because we, the youngsters, are the hope.

Dear Anabelle and Bruce,

My desire is for clean air, clean water, rich soil, and healthy nutritious food for you and all children always everywhere.

Dear Tanuj,

The time has come to question ourselves as citizens about our own actions and the legacy we are leaving behind.

To My Grandchildren,

It’s my hope that the following will be helpful as you navigate your futures.  These are the confessions of a climate activist:

Dear Victoria, sugar pie honey bunch, chiquita loquita,

How can I look at your bright eyes and light dance and tell you we are facing a war?

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will convince my family to switch their gas appliances to electric.

Dear Maya, Emilio and Daniel,

We thought that the world was an endless supply of whatever we wanted… I know it sounds hard to believe, but that is the way it was.

Dear future me,

My hopes have always been to live in a brighter and better generation, where women are respected around the world, human rights are respected and last but not least where animals and mother nature is cared for by us individuals.

Dear Future Grandchild,

We can learn a lot about how to treat others from stories that have been passed from generation to generation.

Dear Lila

So today, my strong and spunky girl, I promise you this: I will stay vigilant and flexible. I will spread the word.
