To my dear daughters,

I hope that you have a future free from the anxieties over climate change we find ourselves in right now. I hope that there is a healthy planet that has enabled you to grow and flourish and turn into the smart, beautiful, talented young adults I know you can be if given the chance. I hope that you may be introducing your own children into a world that has overcome the floods, fire, droughts etc. and they may grow up in a world free from these anxieties.

I love you to pieces.

Love, mama

To anyone who has heard my music,

I promise to care about the planet.

Dear Tripp,

I promise to do my part, supporting federal legislation to protect our earth while starting small with projects at home.

Dear Maya, Emilio and Daniel,

We thought that the world was an endless supply of whatever we wanted… I know it sounds hard to believe, but that is the way it was.

dear earth,

I promise those who walked the Earth before me and those who will walk the Earth after me that I will not stand by and let nature slip through my fingers.

Dear Tomorrow

I promise to educate others TODAY.

Dear future Child or Grandchild,

Climate is undeniably changing but it is not top priority.

Dear Alanna and Valeria,

I promise you to keep trying, to keep educating, to keep pushing our elected officials to act and protect your health now and in the future.

Dear Annalyse and Greyson,

See people can say they care about climate change, but caring is not action.

Dear Grandchildren — August and any others who were born after him

I joined millions of other people who wrote letters and made calls urging our leaders to do more to care for the planet.

Dear Daughter,

Even when contemplating huge global-historical issues — especially then — it’s important to stay grounded in the present time and place, the specific here and now, and the minute affairs of everyday interpersonal relations.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to switch from “light” to “deep” green.

Dear Samuel, Willa, and Ben,

To the core of my being, and only through the power of community, I will honor the voices of the youth who are pleading, “Don’t burn my future.” Samuel, Willa, and Ben, your little voices I know, will join that chorus soon enough.
