To my children and grandchildren,

Hello my future family. I hope that you are around to read this message. The year is 2018 and things seem to be rapidly getting worse. The west coast is constantly on fire while the east coast gets slammed month after month by hurricanes and severe snow storms. And yet nobody seems to be taking the necessary action to change these things. Politicians and people we put in power actually believe that climate change doesn’t exist. We have been warned and I myself am fearful of my own future. Catastrophic events occur more regularly and seem to take more and more lives each time. My fear is, have we gone too far? is what we have put this planet through beyond repair? I have to assume that the damage done will only continue to get worse. I cannot tell you to completely change your lives to save the Earth, but I will tell you to be conscience that we only have one and to do small things to change it. I just hope those changes come before it is too late.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to use a reusable water bottle.

Dear Hailey and Lily,

We know about this. If we don’t fix this for you, it’s our fault.

To My Friends, Family and Future Grandchildren,

I realize my reflection of the past, current and future state of the environment paints a grim and pessimistic picture, but I feel optimistic in our ability to turn planet Earth’s fate around if we all work together and commit to making a change.

Dear love,

The world is facing some serious crises right now as Viral pandemic and war situation between Ukraine and Russia.

Dear Maya, Emilio and Daniel,

We thought that the world was an endless supply of whatever we wanted… I know it sounds hard to believe, but that is the way it was.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ride more and drive less.

Dear little one,

In the coming months, we plan to complete a full assessment of our environmental impact online. We hope to discover our biggest areas of resource consumption, learn what we can do better, and create an action plan to improve over the next year.

Dear future 82-year old me,

29 years later, I wish I still can ride bike and go some lovely places in nature. Sky is blue and air is fresh, I will be shining under the sun.

Dear Kaydence,

I will keep trying Kaydence, I promise. And I hope we can look back together in 2050 and smile, knowing that our Earth is healthy once again.

To my daughter and son,

Surrounded by scientists who shared my fears and visions, I often had a hard time to accept that outside our small community climate change received marginal attention.

Chers Enfants,

Chers Enfants,
