Dear Future Kids of America,

I am sorry that you had to grow up in a world where politics take precedence over every little thing that happens. Everything in the media, be it movies or even simple things, always have to have some sort of political statement attached to it. I am sorry you have to grow up in a world where people have so much freedom that all they can do is complain about their own lives. I am sorry that you have to live in a world where the school system tricks you into thinking that you’re exercising creativity and individuality and learning, but in reality you’re being slumped into a robotic-like trance where there’s no escape until you graduate. I am sorry that you live in a world where there’s constant fighting over stupid things, that people have stopped caring about each other and they have to point the finger at someone other than themselves. I am sorry that as you grow up, you’ll realize that once all the adults retire, it will be your job to fix the mistakes they made. I am sorry you were born into a world where the concept of peace in and of itself is a lie, and that war still happens somewhere. I am sorry that things got like this, where in the 80s and 90s, things weren’t perfect either, far from it, but they weren’t absolutely out of control. The world is in your hands, and the ones who played a part in getting things to be this way will eventually give the safety and protection of our world to you.

I am sorry.

Isabelle minha querida neta!

Nossa vida só tem qualidade se tem natureza ao nosso redor.

Dear my future family,

I will promise to help climate change as much as I can.

Dear Future,

I asked you, the future , to help us as well, to preserve our only planet that can give us life, that can let us watch anime, go to the beach, smell flowers, run through the meadow, listen to our songs, be in a concert, and let us live.

Dear Matthew, Sam, and Sophie,

There is a promise in the Bible: ‘I shall restore the years that the locusts have eaten’ and that points to a promise of complete healing and restoration. But until that comes I intend to do my best to ‘save the planet’ in whatever way I can, and I encourage you to do the same.

Dear Nephew,

I believe i have truly played my part in raising awareness and practical solutions to climate change.

To my daughters,

In order for you two be happy and healthy, we all need to work hard to prevent climate change.

Dear grand nieces and nephews,

I wish you this security knowing we changed because we love you.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to educate myself and others about how we can protect and nourish our 1 PLANET

Dear Future,

I will use less plastic.
