Dear Rowan and Sam,

I hope when you read this that you have not only witnessed but also participated in the work that it has taken to divert our planet from catastrophe.

Through my work, and my personal example I hope that i made a difference in some way. I have seen the change with my own eyes over the decades and feared what your future would look like. Despite being fearful, I was excited. You know me and my curiosity; my love for change and doing new things. I was optimistic. I knew from my work in energy that renewables would eventually become our primary energy source. I’ve seen innovation at Green Conferences that were just ideas and I knew that one day they would go mainstream. I had even eaten mealworm bolognese. I knew that big changes were going to come and I was excited that you would be involved in the incredible transformation.

The world we have transitioned to is the world I wish I grew up in.

Enjoy thriving in your harmonious communities, dancing with the wild in the abundance of nature, and eating food that is good for you and the planet.

Love,
Mom

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

I will do my part to help ensure that there is an Earth left when we are done borrowing it.

Dear Nova and Remi,

I wish for you both that another kind of life has been discovered, one of peace, moderation and concern for all life.

Dear tomorrow,

Unfortunately, our selfishness and excessive greed have closed our eyes to the well-being of the planet, and it has suffered the consequences.

Dear Eleanor,

Send new updated messages to your loved ones at DearTomorrow

Dear Kaydence,

I will keep trying Kaydence, I promise. And I hope we can look back together in 2050 and smile, knowing that our Earth is healthy once again.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to drive less and walk more.

To my daughter and her children,

As a minister, I have preached that we are here to be of service to others and to be care takers of this wonderful planet that God has given us.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will bring permaculture designs to my community.

Dear Tomorrow,

I have solar and will be getting an electric car next week

To the generation after mine,

But when you encounter that resistance–and you will, regularly–know that you must respond just how we have had to these past 50 years. With love, and sternness, and most of all, courage. Because that is what the resistance fears the most. We who came before you promise that we will do the same while we wait for you. Know that you will never be alone.

Dear little one,

In the coming months, we plan to complete a full assessment of our environmental impact online. We hope to discover our biggest areas of resource consumption, learn what we can do better, and create an action plan to improve over the next year.

For my most dear and only daughter,

And I know life more fully because of you whom I live on through.
