Dear People of Tomorrow,

2018 has been a year full of hurricanes and wildfires, and climate change denial. We have a president who despite a scientific study confirming it, still refuses to acknowledge climate change. The state of California was ravaged by massive wildfires, killing hundreds and causing billions of dollars in damage. Also, the massive fires are displacing huge amounts of carbon dust into the air, polluting the air and affecting our climate even more.

I hope that in the future, more than half of the cars on the road are electric, and if you are reading this in 2050, I hope that all cars and vehicles are using a source of energy that is clean and renewable. I hope the nation as a whole is no longer burning coal and fossil fuels, which are not only non-renewable, they are terrible for the environment. I hope that the future is much brighter than it is today. I hope that we are a unified nation that not only acknowledges climate change, but also combats it and has even even repaired the damage that our generation has caused.

More Messages to the Future

To my precious children,

As you’ve grown older, I’ve become increasingly aware that protecting you means more than ensuring your short-term safety. It also means ensuring that you’ll have a safe planet to live on.

Dear Tomorrow

Colin

Dear Chay and Kate,

Don’t ever let anyone tell you your actions don’t matter. Every single thing you do matters. You matter.

To my Kids,

I wish you all the best and always make sure that you can be proud of yourself and don’t need status-symbols for feeling nice.

My dear Thai,

I have also become more aware of trash.

Dear Mother Nature,

I know I’m young. Only 18 but I have lived 18 years in love of everything you offer.

Dear Emilia and Tommy,

We, in our time, still have the chance to change course. We have the knowledge and emergent means, even the profitable technologies, to do so.

Dear son or daughter,

I believe we will figure out this complex problem, because there are too many people who do care for our planet.

Dear Future Students,

You have a voice and your voice matters.

Dear Tristan,

I am doing this to protect you, the food, water, air and biodiversity of a country that I love.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

To the people of tomorrow, my family of tomorrow, the me of tomorrow,

As only one person I know it sounds wild like you can’t change the whole world, but maybe you’ll read this and share it with your friends, and they’ll share it with theirs and that right there will make the hugest difference.
