Dear People of the Future,

There are a lot of problems in the world that we have known about for decades such as global climate change, fracking, the negative effects of mass production of cows, issues with plastic, and so much more. Right now because our world operates in what they think is “efficient production” in other words, a greedy mentality, the effort being put to preserve earth for you is not being done in the best possible way.

I vow to you fellow friend to do my part to minimize my carbon footprint, use decomposable products, and eat a sustainable diet. I hope that by 2050 our world prioritizes planet earth the way it should because planet earth does so much for us. Everyday technology continues to advance and find better ways to do things. Use technology to find the cheapest and best way to use renewable energy and grow better food that drives people away from eating so much beef! hahaha beef is good don’t get me wrong but we can’t abuse the consumption of it any longer. So much of the land in earth is used to grow food for cows, not humans but cows! how ridiculous is that?! So many of your fellow human beings are struggling to get clean water and good food. Do not forget that humans come before animals.  Additionally, this is so important, please please please go back to holistic herbal medicine, stay away from pharmaceutical industries! Not all pharmaceuticals medicine is good for you, it can be addicting and cause worse side effects than the issue itself. Mother nature provided you with all the tress, animals, herbs, and energy you would need to be healthy both mentally and physically. Don’t let man tell you they know more than earth itself because earth has lived longer than all of us. I love you my fellow friend. Take care of yourself and those around you.

More Messages to the Future

Dear future me,

If we don’t stop cutting down trees for agriculture and to build houses then the future generations will not think about trees when they hear the word Earth.

Dear Sinchi,

The world is changing and it is happening fast.

Dear Future Self,

It was 2020, the year I realized that life is fragile—not just mine, but the entire planet—through immense consumption, pollution, greediness, ignorance, false bliss. This wasn’t the way I wanted to live my life, so I promise to actively make the change.

Dear Beloved Children,

As time progresses, there is hope that value will be placed on all living organisms, including humans, plants, and animals. Life will move at a slower pace, and being on your own time and moving at your individual pace will be the typical way of life. I consider this way of life good living, and I hope that future generations will live on this earth as it was once intended to live in peace and harmony.

Dear Me of 2050,

I promise that I will plant more trees in places where there are none.

Dear my future loved ones,

I hope that humans can live harmoniously with the earth.

To My Future Child(ren),

The fact that you are reading this means that you would know the answer to a question that has kept me up at night more often than I would like to admit: Did I make you proud?

dear future people (:

I am writing this message to you guys. When I look outside my window today, I see a beautiful world that others and myself call “home sweet home.” The trees glimmering in warm sunlight, the air stirring a cool breeze, and the water flowing down rivers are parts of our home Mother Earth.

I pledge to take the bus.

Dear Future Self,

I hope you got your dream job of using your business degree to reduce co2 emissions and promote sustainable energy.

Dear Josh, LeeAnn, & Jessica,

I am very proud to know that You will treat Our Earth, Our Natural Gift, Our Playful Backyard with the same Awesome Respect that We give to each other, as a Family – Knowing that Our Earth, is Your Child Now.

Dear Amara and Uma,

Maybe you heard about bats? Bats, the carriers of this disease that spread among us like wild fire. I love bats. When I was your age today, sitting in the evening on the back terrace of your grandparent’s home in Ibiza, hundreds of bats would play, dance and sing among the trees.
