Dear future self,

So far it has been a year since the first quarantine happed and now the covid cases have slowed down, and your aunt was pregnant with twins and you got to help her with the gender reveal.

I hope there isnt a food sortage in 30 years so in 2050 let me know if there is.

I promise to not have a cafo. Also I promise to not or try not to hoard all of the food when the sortage happens

I think its a big deal, and cafos are one of the biggest impacts but if the temperature rises 2 degrees c then the world is probably gonna end….

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow

I will teach my children about a greener earth.

Dear Sadie,

You are young and have a rich future ahead of you. I am retired and aiming for a high quality of cultural life and comfort with whatever time remains to me. I do not want to see a world whose elders sacrifice your future for their short-term needs and personal gain. So it’s up to you and me to speak out.

Dear Elliott,

We’re moving into uncertain times, and your dad and I worry. A lot. But you’re keeping us going. You’re pushing us to make better choices and not give up.

Dear Students,

I imagine at this point we have dropped our addiction to coal, gas, and oil and that our environment has made a turn for the better with the solar, wind, and other unimagined (at this point) alternative energy choices are in place.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to become more educated on the global issues that face populations I can’t see

To the generation after mine,

But when you encounter that resistance–and you will, regularly–know that you must respond just how we have had to these past 50 years. With love, and sternness, and most of all, courage. Because that is what the resistance fears the most. We who came before you promise that we will do the same while we wait for you. Know that you will never be alone.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to drive less and walk more.

Dear Annalyse and Greyson,

See people can say they care about climate change, but caring is not action.

To my dear son,

Last year most of the world’s reefs turned white at some point, but because it was underwater you and your friends didn’t see.

I won’t leave my lights on.

Dear Future Generations,

Dear Future Generations,

Dear Tomorrow,

Awareness is key. Learning about this issue can seem like a small effort compared to other actions, but it’s the most important.
