Dear future self,

Things are crazy right now. Australia is recovering from a pandemic that still rules the world and life is as busy as ever. I leave to go to the Great Barrier Reef in less than a week, and I can’t wait. I only hope that it will still be around for your children to see when it is their turn.

I promise to do all that I can to help better the world we live in now for you and your family in the future. I will make change happen.

Dear Students,

I imagine at this point we have dropped our addiction to coal, gas, and oil and that our environment has made a turn for the better with the solar, wind, and other unimagined (at this point) alternative energy choices are in place.

Dear Rowan and Anaka,

If we could talk, I would not be able to bear your gaze as you ask: How could you, the people in a position to change the course of climate change, fail to act?

Greetings 2050 earthling,

Starting in 2015 I committed my life to sustainability.

You should make a time machine and come back to past and solve all the problems.

Dear Children,

I wish I had a crystal ball and could peep into it to see you all happy and safe in a world that nourishes you and that is also nourished by you, a world where the resources it provides are as valued as the people in it and not frittered away by greed and power.

Dear You Tomorrow,

What we failed to do, at least early on, was to see how important it was to put those solutions together. To combine into a way forward.
