Dear Future Self,

I hope you are living in a world where the trees still flower in the spring, where the birds chirp happily on the branches, where there is snow during the winter, where classrooms all around the world teach sustainability to the children, where everyone takes action against climate change, where the systems harming life in all its forms are held accountable, where we respect and love our Mother Earth for all of her generosity. I hope you made a positive contribution to this future and inspired others to as well.

More Messages to the Future

To my daughter and her children,

As a minister, I have preached that we are here to be of service to others and to be care takers of this wonderful planet that God has given us.

Dear Luna,

I will never give up on you, on humanity, on the future.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to only use metal straws and reusable cups.

To my daughter and son,

Surrounded by scientists who shared my fears and visions, I often had a hard time to accept that outside our small community climate change received marginal attention.

Dear Jeremy,

We had a lot in common obviously, and our concern for the planet we live on was one of the many things we bonded over.

Hola Cariño,

Life is not easier being a believer but I would not have picked another path. Thanks to my Faith I found my passion to work to stop climate change for your future. Now go play outside and breathe clean air. Dios te bendiga.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ride more and drive less.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to use a refillable bottle, bring my own resusable spoon/form wherever I go, use clean personal care products (without chemicals).

Dear Tomorrow,

Love, help and build a future in unison that benefits and protects the whole world.

Dear my future child,

I promise you, I am going to do everything I can to save this planet for you. I won’t let you down, I swear.

To My Fellow Two-Spirits,

Thank you — Thank you — without you, I would not hear butterflies singing, without you, I would not understand black bear humor, or the creativity of jays planning their breakfast, without you, I would not feel flora whispers of long-lived wisdom on the back of my neck while sitting in Padmasana.

Dear Zhengqing Gao,

Fortunately, you didn’t get injured while the wildfire burned your school.
