Dear future self,

Dear future self,

Right now, it is exactly 4:53pm and today is November 18th, 2018. I hope you are doing well including everyone else that you love. I hope your relationship with your parents is much better and you are happy with what you’ve accomplished so far. I wonder if Yanoosh has discovered your crazy side yet, I sure hope not. I do not know when this will be opened, but I hope you are running wildly with your kids (I am seriously hoping they have Yanoosh’s eyelashes, they are beautiful). I hope you and Yanoosh are successful and content with life. Has dad moved back to VN? Oh, I wonder how things will be in the future. Guess we will see.

To everyone else:

No matter what is going on right now, keep trying to spread positivity. Trust yourself and be proud of what you’ve done. Life is hard, no one trains us on this but keep pushing through. Always remember to spread love and happiness, you never know when someone needs it.

P.S – I also hope you’ve been getting your stuff together especially with the environment. Y’all currently slipping real hard.

Best of luck,

Michelle

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to contact my local officials on passing measures against climate change

To My Fellow Two-Spirits,

Thank you — Thank you — without you, I would not hear butterflies singing, without you, I would not understand black bear humor, or the creativity of jays planning their breakfast, without you, I would not feel flora whispers of long-lived wisdom on the back of my neck while sitting in Padmasana.

Dear Alyssa,

I pray that more and more fathers will realize that to love their children well, they have to love and respect the ecological systems around them too.

To our sweet grandson Caleb,

We want a safe and beautiful world for you, little Caleb, and for your children and grandchildren. We promise to do our part.

Dear 2050,

Our planet is crazy. I pledge to be an innovator to make sustainable living real.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will use less fossil fuels.

Dear Future

My hope is for all who live in your time to still know the joy of swimming in the ocean, walking through the woods, and hiking in the mountains.

Future Message to Earth,

Hope there will be no more droughts,
And no more pollution with which we fought,
Regarding every human should be taught,
Ensuring that we uniformly follow these thoughts.

My Mini & Lou,

Since I first sat down with these words, a pandemic has erupted. Racial violence is reaching a fever pitch and protests are raging across the nation. It feels like the planet is succumbing to entropy, slipping further into chaos. But I write to you from a time of shifting tides.

Dear World,

I vow that I will try to make a difference every day, so that you may enjoy the world as I have.
