Dear Future Me,

You made it! You are reading this letter smiling at your new, state of the art device, wondering what the hell was going on in your younger self’s brain. Well, a lot. A lot is happening right now. The good, the bad, the ugly.

Our world faces more and more issues everyday, not only are we faced with rapid climate change, but we are also faced with so many more social injustices. I don’t want to sit here and tell you about everything wrong with the current world but I will tell you this…

Be happy. You made it this far… Sometimes you will feel like giving up, don’t.

Keep pushing, keep trying to make a difference and just remember to treat the planet with kindness, she has done so much for you!

xx you, but from the past 😉

More Messages to the Future

Dear loved ones in the future,

Even if it pains me to imagine how things are back home in Puerto Rico at the moment, I know things will flourish again. The land will heal, but we need to help it.

Dear Tomorrow,

We want to let others know about how to fight climate crisis.

Para minha querida filha, Vitória,

Consegue compreender que estamos aqui de passagem e que temos por obrigação apenas tomar emprestado, evitado excessos e principalmente agradecer.

To my brother’s children,

We wondered about how we might be able to eliminate plastics from our day to day routines, and recycled literally everything. We were amazing, you should have seen us. Now and again though, we wondered if these were the right questions.

My Dear Paloma,

I’m going to commit to raising you with your eyes open. Being aware as much as we can, how to better our environment together.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I’ll replace our lights with LED lights.

To my great-great grandchildren,

I don’t know your name
or even if you’re alive,
but I’m doing all I can
to make sure you survive.

I’m your great- great grandmother
who lived a century ago
in a world far different
from the one you must know.

Dear Tomorrow

I promise to educate others TODAY.

Dear next generation,

Please don’t wait to see the adverse effects instead adopt that river, stream, lake or ocean to make the world a better place.

Dear Rowan and Anaka,

If we could talk, I would not be able to bear your gaze as you ask: How could you, the people in a position to change the course of climate change, fail to act?

Dear Tomorrow,

Don’t use plastic straws!
