Dear Future Generations,

I write this letter in hope that you do a better job about caring for our world. We are in a critical time regarding climate. I will start by apologizing for the mess you will be left to clean if there is no change moving forward. Covid-19 has shown the world how much our earth needed a break from the constant damage we continue to make by prioritizing money over the health of our own planet. The many ecosystems we are destroying due to our selfish ways. I hope that those of you who are young and reading this that will become politicians representing your communities that did what our politicians did not: make a concise decision to invest in exploring innovative solutions that will allow us to continue growing economically without killing our planet.

Best Regard,

From a Friend

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to go DEEP GREEN

Queridos filhos Heloísa e Henzo,

Tenho muito orgulho da minha função (agente de fiscalização ambiental do Acre) pois é através dela que posso dar um pouco do meu suor, para que no futuro ambos possam ter um lugar melhor para viver.

Dear Darlings,

I commit to you to change one thing a year in our lifestyle to live more environmentally friendly.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to purchase carbon offsets when we fly.

Dear Children,

I wish I had a crystal ball and could peep into it to see you all happy and safe in a world that nourishes you and that is also nourished by you, a world where the resources it provides are as valued as the people in it and not frittered away by greed and power.

To my daughter and her children,

As a minister, I have preached that we are here to be of service to others and to be care takers of this wonderful planet that God has given us.

To My Future Child(ren),

The fact that you are reading this means that you would know the answer to a question that has kept me up at night more often than I would like to admit: Did I make you proud?

Dear Tomorrow,

I will opt up to deep green

Dear Future Grandchild,

We can learn a lot about how to treat others from stories that have been passed from generation to generation.

My Mini & Lou,

Since I first sat down with these words, a pandemic has erupted. Racial violence is reaching a fever pitch and protests are raging across the nation. It feels like the planet is succumbing to entropy, slipping further into chaos. But I write to you from a time of shifting tides.

I promise to plant trees and to turn off the lights.

Queridos amigos sobrevivientes.

Quiero pensar que ustedes serán la diferencia, que tomaran más actos sobre el asunto y no dejaran que nada los detenga.
