Dear Future Generations,

I hope that you outlawed gasoline consumer vehicles in the U.S or at least in my home state of California. In the U.S individuals have the biggest impact on the environment. We need to change our entire way we transport ourself in our personal lives. Most Americans in 2018 still use inefficient gasoline engine vehicles to transport themselves. Unfortunately, myself included. Mainly due to cost and transportation infrastructure, public transportation is very undeveloped in most of the U.S and the cost of the cheapest electric cars are twice to three times the cost of most consumer vehicles. In addition to that the infrastructure for electric vehicles is really only well developed in a handful or areas and states. When I look back on the progress our country has made in thirty years I hope we are able to mitigate the worst impact of climate change and human degradation on the planet and the limited resources it holds.

Thanks,

Blake Allen

More Messages to the Future

To My Children and My Future Grandchildren,

People are an amazing race and, if we have the will, I believe we have the ingenuity and resources to fix the harm we’ve done.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will do everything I can to help fight against climate change.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to contact my local officials on passing measures against climate change

Dear… Parents,

Let us teach our children to volunteer and donate.

Anya,

All you can do is your best. You can encourage the same in others. You can admit your mistakes and those of your ancestors. You can learn from them, and help however you can. I’ll do the same. I promise.

Dear Alba:

There is still a lot of beauty and I will do what I can to keep it from slipping away.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to stop eating beef.

Dear Rosie,

But when you are reading this years from now, by the light of a solar powered lamp, know that your dad, mom and millions of others who burned brightly with love for our kids did what we could, when we knew the stakes.

Dear Owen and Vivian,

Here’s the biggest secret: I KNOW it will have. We may not realize how, but we have changed the world.

Dear Tomorrow,

Less meat, more on my feet!

Dear fantastic,

We as the human race are smarter than this struggle at hand and need to rise above large corporate interests and confusion on this topic.

Dear Seamus and Tuva,

So it’s 2050. If the good people are winning the greater struggle, fossil fuels are a shamefully long chapter of the past, and there has been a full scale awakening to the need for only renewable, clean energy.
