Dear future family,

Today the LA traffic is clear and the usual smog in our skyline is not there. This is something that I wish it were like all the time but unfortunately this is only happening due to our current pandemic. Hopefully we can recover from this pandemic in a way that lowers our greenhouse emissions to allow this beautiful view to stand free of smog once again. Hopefully our use of renewable energy is our society’s main usage by the time you read this, if not let’s keep pushing for this, please!

More Messages to the Future

Dear Ellis,

So, dear heart, I am doing everything I can as the situation worsens.

Dear Owen and Vivian,

Here’s the biggest secret: I KNOW it will have. We may not realize how, but we have changed the world.

For my children,

If we haven’t done enough and the world you’re living on is apocalyptic or if you’re living on another planet then I’m deeply sorry and just know that I believe in you and I know that you are both strong and smart enough to handle anything.

Dear Lillyana,

I will continue to work to make the Earth a cleaner and safer place for you to grow and explore.

I love you Earth.

Dear Matthew, Sam, and Sophie,

There is a promise in the Bible: ‘I shall restore the years that the locusts have eaten’ and that points to a promise of complete healing and restoration. But until that comes I intend to do my best to ‘save the planet’ in whatever way I can, and I encourage you to do the same.

I promise to plant trees and to turn off the lights.

Tratar de assuntos climáticos com responsabilidade no Brasil

Que se multipliquem estes novos heróis da Terra!

Dear future generations,

My hope for you is that you can have equal experiences with nature that I was able to have with my dad.

Dear Tomorrow,

The only way to survive it, even if you don’t feel like you’re winning, is to keep your hands on the rope.

Dear Future Explorers,

I am often faced with the question: why do I care so much about this pale blue dot that we inhabit?

To my precious grandchildren, Emma, Maya, Maddie and Will,

With love and a great hope for the future, a future that will be healthy and sustainable for you, my precious grandchildren.
