Dear future child(ren) of mine,

Today I am taking actions in order to promote a more healthier world for you. I will continue to ensure that the world I leave will be a better world than the one I was brought into. I will continue changing my lifestyle and choices, promoting a better, greener world while doing so. I aim to become the best role-model for you, and for the rest of society. I sincerely hope my actions can make a notable difference into the world that I bring you into. Continue on and keep promoting sustainability in our interactions with the natural world.

I love you.

Sincerely,

Your future father

More Messages to the Future

Dear Nolan, Patrick, Cullen and Gabriel,

This Mother’s Day I am again thinking of my grandsons future and what I am doing to change the world if only by a small fraction.

To My Future Children,

I hope by 2050, our society has taken initiative to be producing energy solely through renewable sources.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ask five of my friends to plant trees.

Dear fellow human,

May my tomorrow include more attention to these details so that you know that I do care.

To you, my dear!

In 2050, I will still be fighting against climate change. I feel that it’s not only my duty, but rather my destiny.

To my beloved granddaughters, Margaret and Caroline,

Growing up in Germany, I often wondered what my parents had done to oppose the Nazi regime in the 1930’s that led to WWII.  I was so disappointed when I found out how passive they had been. For me, this was formative.

Dear Ryan,

I hope that you start doing things that will help the world.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will take short showers, eat less meat, and buy local more often.

Minhas lindas,

As causas das mudanças no clima são tão profundas e envolvem tanta gente e tantos lugares.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to use a reusable water bottle.

Dearest Gray,

When I asked you why the purple Violet called to you, you told me it was “magic”. I hope that you can still find the magic of life. I hope, despite everything, it is still in abundance.

A love letter to my son

I hope this year is a real turning point and by the time you’re a teenager, your life is powered almost entirely by clean energy like solar and wind.
