Dear Elizabeth and Christopher,

I am worried about the direction our world is moving. Industry is polluting our planet. Green house gases are building up and our climate is changing. The polar icecaps and sea ice are melting.

We need to make a change in the way we live before it’s too late. I promise to spread the word to make others more aware of the dangers of unsustainable energy and food industries, and help to change peoples’ expectations about what ‘normal’ living should look like. When covid19 is resolved, let’s work together and avoid the ‘back to normal’ lifestyle. I will work with my community to continue to make the world a more fair and sustainable place to live.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Kai and Leah,

I want you to feel awestruck like I do. It is important to feel small sometimes, to feel the weight of reality, to recognize the scale of a challenge, to see where you fit and what you are up against. This is the case with climate change.

Dear Malasher and Alex,

My goal was to help you grow into better citizens of our planet; to help you care about our natural world and to make everyday choices that reflect concern for our beautiful earth and our own health as well as encourage you to work together to make changes in our community.

Dear Tomorrow,

We only have 11 years left until the damage done by climate change is irreversible.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ask five of my friends to plant trees.

Dear Nuriel, Eliran, and Rotem,

Sometimes I think we will never make it, but I know we must keep trying.

Dear Rowan and Anaka,

If we could talk, I would not be able to bear your gaze as you ask: How could you, the people in a position to change the course of climate change, fail to act?

Dear Tomorrow,

It wasn’t about Him, it was about Us. And this isn’t about Me, it’s about You. And it won’t be about You, it will be about Them.

Dear Tomorrow,

I will work to restore the wetlands.

To my future self,

It is today on March 6th, 2017 that you have made the decision to make a difference in this world.

Dear Hailey and Lily,

We know about this. If we don’t fix this for you, it’s our fault.

Dear future me,

I’m doing this work because I see it as the best way to save and improve as many lives as possible. I’m doing it so you, 2050 Ryan, can look at yourself in the mirror. And so you can tell your kids and grandkids someday that you did everything you could.

Dear future me,

If we don’t stop cutting down trees for agriculture and to build houses then the future generations will not think about trees when they hear the word Earth.
